With university graduation ceremonies cancelled throughout the UK this summer, we couldn’t let the achievements of some of our NIXON team go unmarked.
Congratulations to our architectural technician Kasia Kozlowska and quantity surveyor Olivia Bibb as they graduate in respective fields this summer.
Kasia and Olivia like thousands of students around the country should have been putting on their academic robes this week but due to the restrictions of the pandemic most universities have had to postpone ceremonies.
Kasia, who is already a graduate in architectural technology, completed her LLM in Construction Law from Strathclyde University, said: “I should have been graduating tomorrow and obviously it would have been nice to dress up in a gown, but it wasn’t to be. I understand under the current circumstances, so instead I’ll celebrate online with my family in Poland and raise a glass. There’s always next year if the restrictions are lifted.”
Quantity Surveyor Olivia, who joined NIXON five years ago as an apprentice and was mentored by the company to complete her degree from Heriot-Watt University, had similar feelings. She said: “It’s the first time I’ve ever graduated so I am disappointed not to be celebrating with family and friends but hopefully we’ll get the chance one day when it’s safe. No matter what, it’s a great feeling to be a graduate after five years of studying.”
Massive congratulations to Kasia and Olivia from all the NIXON team.
