We are soon to break ground in Paisley at our new Millhouse development but before we do, we wanted to look at the history of the town and, in particular, the jewel in Paisley’s crown, The Abbey.
Founded in 1163, it is known as the ‘Cradle of the Stewarts’ for its ties to the family which reigned for more than three centuries.Scotland’s Braveheart, the legendary Sir William Wallace, is said to have been educated by the monks of Paisley Abbey and it is also the resting place of Robert III. The town is steeped in history and boasts striking architecture.
While we can’t yet visit The Abbey to show you inside the stunning stained glass windows, relics, and its many artefacts, we took a look around some of the views that our residents at The Millhouse Paisley will be able to enjoy.
